Erik Carter is a graphic designer, art director, and educator running an independent practice based in New York City. He is known for his writing on typography, book and cover design, along with his animations. Much of his work incorporates references to video game culture, social commentary, and critique.

We can’t wait to join him in conversation with a community of students, faculty, and friends for our Design Panel Series.

Wednesday, 11/18, 12:30pm PST FREE and open to all!

Tickets via Eventbrite. We’ll send you a Zoom link before the event.

Erik previously worked as an art director at Google developing communicative AR experiences, a senior designer at MTV building on on-air animation, and as an art director for The New York Times, and as a designer at the Office of Paul Sahre.

Hosted by the BFA Graphic Design program at Pacific Northwest college of Art since 2016, the Design Lecture Series welcomes designers from all over the world to share their work and what moves them. The fall 2020 evolution of our series will take advantage of the potential for more interaction across our distances by hosting panel discussions in place of traditional lectures. As a way to open our doors and minds to the broad and vibrant possibilities in design, panels will be driven by current students in conversation with a diverse set of fascinating creative folks who break expectations of what design can be and do in the world today.
