PNCA is proud to host Fuckup Nights as a participating event series in Portland’s Design Week.
Fuckup Nights is a global event series with chapters in over 300 cities where stories of failed ideas and projects are told, questioned and celebrated. The first Fuckup Night happened in Mexico City in September 2012. Since then, people gather in cities all around the world to share stories about going big, and failing hard, and surviving to tell the tale. So what can you expect? In every Fuckup Night, speakers tell a short story of failure, and how they recovered. What was the project? What went wrong? What did they learn? What would they like to do over…or do they wear their scars proudly? The speakers can be quite varied: artists, designers, technology experts, social entrepreneurs… The one thing that they all have in common? They fucked up. And they’re still here, thriving. For this round of Fuckup Nights, our fabulous speakers are drawn from a variety of areas of the Portland design community. Jeremy Pelley of OMFGco, Sal Orara, president of the Portland chapter of AIGA, Nina Narelle of FutureWorkDesign and PNCA design student Mallary Wilson.
